Ahmedabad, July 29 (IBNS): In another shocking incident of lynching, a mob has beaten to death a man in Gujarat's Dahod area, reports said on Sunday.

The mob reportedly attacked the deceased man and his friend by suspecting them to be mobile phone thieves.

Police told media the incident occurred last night when 20 men gathered  Dahod district and thrashed the two men.

The deceased person was identified as Ajmal Vahoniya.

The other person, who was identified as Bharu Mathur, has been taken to hospital for treatment.

No arrests have been made so far.

Police have registered a case of murder in the case.

"During investigation, the police found out that Ajmal Vahoniya had 32 cases of theft, rioting and other crimes against him," reported NDTV.

The Indian government on Monday said a high-level committee has been formed to examine whether the country needs a separate law to curb lynching and mob violence.

The committee will submit its recommendations to the Government within four weeks.

The move was made by the Centre as several mob lynching episodes came to light in recent times.
