Srinagar, July 22 (IBNS): A Jammu and Kashmir Police constable, who was abducted by terrorists from his home in South Kashmir's Kulgam on Friday night, has been found dead.

The constable has been identified as Salem Ahmed Shah.

Confirming the same, Kashmir Police tweeted:

The police also informed that the terrorists involved in the kidnapping and murder of Salem have been killed in an encounter in Kulgam.

According to reports, his body was recovered from a field in Kulgam on Saturday night itself.

The constable was undergoing training in Kathua and was on leave.

Following reports of his abduction, a manhunt was launched by security officials on Saturday.

This comes only a month after a soldier was kidnapped and killed by terrorists in south Kashmir while he was on his way home to celebrate Eid.
