Congress is now a Bail-gaadi: PM Modi at Jaipur

India Blooms News Service | @indiablooms | 07 Jul 2018, 12:14 pm

Jaipur, Jul 7 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday launched a scathing attack on the Congress, labelling it as a ‘bail-gaadi’, a coinage he made to deride at the party with several of its high-profile leaders being out on bail.

The term Modi used also sounds similar to the Hindi of a bullock cart.

“Some people have started calling Congress ‘bail-gaadi’ as several high profile leaders and former ministers of the party are out on bail these days,” Modi said while addressing a rally of beneficiaries of welfare schemes run by the Centre and the state government in Jaipur.

His tirade came as a precursor to the official campaign for the Rajasthan Assembly election.

The Prime Minister listed out the policies launched by the Centre, including the promise of increasing MSP, adding that the Centre was committed to doubling farmers’ income by 2022.

Modi said Dalits, farmers, women and backward castes were at the centre of the government’s schemes.

"Our only agenda is development, development and development," he said.

Praising Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje for changing the work culture in the state, Modi said the previous Congress regime was known for their culture of hindering and halting projects.

“There are some people who will never appreciate good work done, be it by the Centre or by Raje, but everyone must see the happiness of the beneficiaries here,” Modi said.
