Indian army conducts surgical strike at NSCN-K camp in Myanmar

Guwahati, June 28 (IBNS): The Indian army has conducted another surgical strike and attacked a camp of banned outfit group Nationalist Socialist Council of Nagaland – Khaplang (NSCN-K) in Myanmar.

According to the reports, a team of 12 Para Commandos attacked a check post of NSCN-K situated in the vicinity of its Shwelo camp inside Myanmar on Wednesday.

The gunfight continued for half hour.

The Indian army commandos equipped with modern sophisticated weapons, rocket launchers, automatic grenade launchers, mortar attacked the NSCN-K camp around 2 pm on Wednesday.

The Indian army carried out the operation in Myanmar soil, which is around 3 km from the Indian border adjoining Nagaland’s Mon district.

NSCN-K Deputy Minister Colonel Isak Sumi confirmed the attack.

In a Facebook post he wrote: "The Indian Army in huge number crossed Chenmoh village and arrived at the international boundary some kilometres away from the Naga Army forward post and on realisation that their presence has already been detected they resorted to blank firings randomly for several minutes to which the Naga Army responded and prevented any further advance casualties could not be ascertained. The incident occurred yesterday around noon."
