KCR threatens to 'bury alive' TV channels if they don’t respect Telengana

Warangal, Sep 10 (IBNS): Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Tuesday threatened to “bury alive” TV channels that dared to insult the sentiment of Telangana, its Assembly, legislators and the newly-born region’s self-respect, reports said.

“We will bury them some 10 km and won’t hesitate to break their neck. We will throw them out,” KCR said, referring mainly to two Telugu channels - TV9 and ABN Andhra Jyoti - that have been protesting against what they call an unofficial ban on their transmission in Telangana.

The Telengana CM said the television channels must salute and give respect to them.

Earlier, both the channels virtually went off air in the region following a satirical programme that they had aired on the CM and his council of ministers on June 2 this year, sources said.

Many people said it was quite offensive and the one of the channels also sought an apology in regard to the programme.
