A team from the Special Cell, which is the anti-terror unit of the city police, intercepted Bharti and his men at a farmhouse. Bharti and his men were asked to surrender but they fired at the policemen, Delhi Police was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times.

The other members of the group have been identified as Vidroh, Umesh Don and Bhiku.

As per Hindustan Times report,  at least 35 rounds of gunfire was exchanged, an officer said. Four police officers also received bullet injuries. Police recovered illegal semi-automatic pistols from a Ford Endeavour car in which Bharti and his associates were travelling.
