Managalore, Apr 23 (IBNS): Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh will be in Mangalore on Monday to be part of the election campaign in poll-bound Karnataka.

Singh said he will be addressing three public rallies in the state.

He will address the rallies in Karkala, Belthangady and Udupi.

Singh tweeted: "Heading to Mangaluru today. Shall join the election campaign in Karnataka and address three public meetings at Karkala, Belthangady and Udupi."

Karnataka will see a direct clash between the Congress and the BJP to capture the Assembly.

Karnataka is one of the few states still ruled by the Congress.

The BJP, which had stormed the northeast belt in recent years, is now looking to add the southern state to its bag.

The BJP, either alone or with ally partners, is ruling in 22 Indian states.

Karnataka election will be held in a single phase on May 12.

The counting of votes will take place on May 15.
