New Delhi, Sept 4 (IBNS): Three out of five accused in infamous Badaun killings case got bail in a local court on Thursday, media reported.

According to reports, the court gave the decision after the CBI decided not file chargesheet against the five accused in the Badaun rape-cum-murder case within the 90 days limit.

The three had reportedly cleared the lie detector and other forensic tests in the case.

“CBI is not filing chargesheet against the five accused persons, at this stage. However, we have not given clean chit to anyone and further investigation is on,” media quoted CBI spokesperson Kanchan Prasad as saying.

The case dates back to May when two teenage dalit sisters were found hanging on a tree outside their village in Badaun in Uttar Pradesh.

The families of the cousin sisters had blamed the three men of raping and killing them.

The incident had sent shockwaves across the country with the people demanding immediate arrest of the accused.

The gruesome incident also sparked a political debate between Narendra Modi and Akhilesh Yadav-led UP Government.

However, the post-mortem report of the girls revealed that they hadn't been raped.

Meanwhile, a teenage girl was allegedly raped near Badaun on Wednesday; media quoted local police as saying.

According to information received, an eight year old girl was allegedly raped in a village in Zarifnagar police station area.

The girl was later found lying some distance away near the fields.

On the complaint of her father, an FIR has been registered in this connection.
