Lucknow, Jan 18 (IBNS): In an incident similar to the Ryan murder case, a class 6 girl of a Lucknow school attempted to kill a six-year old boy of the same institution to get a holiday, media reports said.

The senior girl took the boy to a toilet to stab him with a kitchen knife.

The boy, who has wounds in chest and stomach, is now out of danger. He is still in hospital.

The principal of the school, who allegedly tried to suppress the incident, has been arrested for negligence.

The security camera did not cover the toilet which was expected.

The six-year old child said the girl told him, "If I attack you and harm you, only then will the school announce a holiday", NDTV reported.

Senior police officer Deepak Kumar was quoted by NDTV: "Hair has been found on the boy that matches the girl's hair. We have sent it for DNA profiling. The incident involves children, so we will bring the matter before a juvenile justice board."

The incident is similar to the murder of seven-year old Pradyuman Thakur in Ryan International School in Gurgaon last year.

Pradyuman, who was found with his throat slit inside washroom, was allegedly murdered by a class XI student of the same school, in order to get a holiday.

Keeping the Ryan murder case in mind, director of the Lucknow school, Veena Vyas, said she is taking all precautions. Vyas also did not dismiss the possibility of the deadly game, Blue Whale, behind the crime.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath paid a visit to the boy in the hospital.
