Bus mows down five Palani-bound pilgrims in Tamil Nadu

Chennai, Dec 26 (IBNS): Five pilgrims were mowed down by a government bus in Tamil Nadu early on Tuesday, according to media reports.

One person was seriously injured and later removed to a local hospital.

The pilgrims, including two women, were on a pilgrimage on foot to the hill shrine in Palani, reports said.

The accident occurred near Dharapuram in Tirupur district, local reports said.

Police is investigating into the cause of the accident.
