Bengal remembers freedom fighter Matangini Hazra on death anniversary
Kolkata, Sep 29 (IBNS): West Bengal remembered freedom fighter Matangini Hazra on her death anniversary on Friday.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee tweeted, "Remembering the freedom fighter Matangini Hazra who laid down her life for the country on this day in 1942."
At 71 years of age, Hazra was on her way to capture a police station in Tamluk (Midnapore) along with a large crowd, as part of the Quit India Movement in 1942.
