Delhi: Driver who raped Jharkhand woman arrested

New Delhi, Sep 14 (IBNS): A cabbie was booked in the national capital after he was found guilty of deceiving a woman and raping her, reports said.

Based on complaint by the victim, the police arrested the criminal from his home.

The incident took place on Tuesday early morning.

Though the victim has not yet been identified, she hails from Jharkhand was in Delhi to meet a relative.

The driver has been identified as Chinnu Mehto, 30.

The driver had offered the victim a ride after misleading her with train information and later drove the car to a secluded place and raped her.

According to the victim's testimonial, the driver also threatened her of gang-raping if she didn't comply with his demands.

Following the deed, the victim was dropped off near Old Delhi Railway Station from where she made a PCR call.

Upon hearing her story, cops tracked and interrogated the driver and later arrested him.
