Security forces nab seven NDFB (S) militants in Assam

Guwahati, June 15 (IBNS): Security forces have apprehended seven hardcore militants of outlawed NDFB (S) and its three linkmen in Assam, officials said on Thursday.

Based on specific information about moving of NDFB (S) militants, Army and Kamrup Police jointly launched operation on Wednesday and nabbed  four NDFB (S) militants and three link men moving through National Highway 31.

Among the nabbed militants and linkmen, four were identified as Bidyaram Brahma alias B Madai alias B Onjula, Pradeep Daimari, Gwmbwr Boro and Ansula Boro.

Guwahati based defence PRO said that, the nabbed militants have been trained in 36 to 38 batches of NDFB (S).

“The militants were actively involved in extortion, arms smuggling and other nefarious and anti national activities,” the Defence PRO said.

The SDPO Rangiya and a team of Army, Red Horns Div intercepted the militants, while they were moving to undertake a bank robbery in areas of Boko .

One 9mm pistol along with five live rounds and a Khukri were recovered from the apprehended militants.

The apprehension of this important cadre is significant towards thwarting the subversive plans of NDFB (S).

The apprehended militants and linkmen have been handed over to Rangiya Police Station on Thursday.

On the other hand, Guwahati city police apprehended three more militants of the outfit group at Kamakhya railway station on Thursday.
