Parliament adjourned sine die after Budget session

New Delhi, Apr 12 (IBNS) : Both Houses of Parliament were adjourned sine die on Wednesday after a total of 35 bills were passed by both the Houses during the Budget session.

Wednesday  was the last day of the Budget Session of Parliament.

The first half of the session was held from January 31 to February 9 and the second half of the session began after a month-long recess on March 9.

The prominent bills passed during the session are related to the landmark GST, the motor vehicles (amendment) bill, specified bank notes (cessation of liabilities) Act that denotified old Rs 1000 and Rs 500 notes, the payment of wages (amendment) bill, maternity benefit(amendment) act, enemy property (amendment and validation) act and the HIV AIDS (prevention & control) bill.
