Long live democracy: PM Modi says in reply to Rahul Gandhi
In a tweet, PM Modi wrote: "Thank you. Long live democracy!"
Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi on Saturday congratulated PM Modi and BJP for poll victory in UP and Uttarakhand.
"I congratulate Shri. Narendra Modi and the BJP on their victory in Uttar Pradesh & Uttarakhand," Rahul's tweet had read.
BJP captured Uttar Pradesh in a thumping victory in, bagging more than 300 seats and followed it up with another comprehensive win in Uttarakhand.
However in Punjab, Congress attained the number one spot, surging ahead of the Aam Admi Party and the Akali Dal-BJP alliance.
In a series of tweets, Rahul showed solidarity with Congress workers following its loss in UP.
"To all Congress workers across India: We stand resolute & committed to our values & our belief in an India united in strength & purpose," Rahul had said on twitter.
