Srinagar, Anantnag parliament seats to go to polls on Apr 9, 12

Srinagar, Mar 9 (IBNS): Election Commission of India said that Srinagar and Anantnag parliament seats would go to polls on Apr 9 and 12 respectively.

The Anantnag and Srinagar parliament seats fell vacant after the resignation of PDP Chief Mehbooba Mufti and Congress leader Tariq
Hameed Karra respectively.

Votes would be counted on April 15, it said in a press release issued on Thursday.

Gazette notification for by-polls to 2-Srinagar would be issued on March 14 and 3-Anantnag on March 17, said the release.

“Last dates for filing nominations for Srinagar and Anantnag is March 21 and 24 respectively”, release said.
