New Delhi, Mar 6 (IBNS): The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Monday said it has arrested a Chief Crew Controller, Central Railway, Solapur Division, Wadi, District Gulbarga (Karnataka) for demanding & accepting a bribe of Rs.20,000 from the complainant.

"A case was registered U/s 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 against Chief Crew Controller, Central Railway, Solapur Division, Wadi, District Gulbarga (Karnataka) on the allegations of demanding a bribe of Rs.20,000/- from the complainant for certifying his claims of Rs.11 lakh for the expenses incurred on meals coupons, gas cylinders and cleaning material during the month of August, September & October, 2016. CBI laid a trap and caught the accused red handed while accepting the bribe of Rs.20,000/- from the complainant," read a CBI statement.

In another case, CBI has arrested a Trackman working in the office of DRM, Northern Railway, Moradabad (Uttar Pradesh) for demanding & accepting a bribe of Rs.30,000 from the complainant.

A case was registered against said accused on the allegations of demanding an illegal gratification of Rs.Thirty thousand from the complainant for passing his heavy vehicle (Trolla) through Railway crossing.

"CBI laid a trap and caught the accused while demanding & accepting the bribe of Rs.30,000/- from the Complainant," read the statement.

The accused was produced in the Designated Court and remanded to Judicial Custody.
