Patna, Jan 24 (TheBiharPost/IBNS): The police recovered many objectionable items during an intensive raids conducted at Beur central jail in Patna in the wee hours of Tuesday.

The raiding team was led by Patna’s senior superintendent of police Manu Maharaj himself.

Reports said the raids which began shortly past midnight ended at 6 in the morning during which the police recovered seven cell phones, chargers, ear phones, electric wires and cannabis.

What though surprised the raiding party was the recovery of a red-coloured diary from the jail ward of a dreaded Maoist Ajay Kanu.

Reports said the diary contains list of persons from whom levy has been recovered or is to be recovered.

The sudden raids follow  intelligence inputs in the light of the  Republic Day function.

All the prisoners were sleeping when the raids were launched, as per reports.

Earlier, the police had raided this jail in October last year during which the jail cell housing 10 IM terrorists were extensively searched.

The extremists  are accused of being involved Bodh Gaya serial blasts and Patna’s Gandhi Maidan blasts.
