J & K Assembly passes resolution on the return of displaced Pandits
Srinagar, Jan 18 (IBNS) The Jammu and Kashmir Assembly on Thursday passed a resolution seeking return of the displaced Kashmiri Pandits and members of other communities, uprooted during the prolonged course of insurgency in the Valley.
Former Chief Minister and National Conference working President Omar Abdullah moved the resolution in the House.
Most of the members of the valley's minority Pandits or Hindu Brahmins fled their homes after insurgency broke out in Kashmir.
There are nearly sixty thousand registered Kashmiri migrant families in the country.
