Kolkata/New Delhi, Jan 10 (IBNS): Singer-turned-Union Minister Babul Supriyo on Tuesday sent legal notice, demanding apologies, for defamation to Trinamool Congress (TMC) Lok Sabha MPs Tapas Pal and Saugata Roy and party's national spokesperson Mahua Moitra, reports said.

Earlier, Tapas Pal and Saugata Roy claimed that BJP MP of Asansol Lok Sabha constituency, Babul Supriyo, had links with ponzi firm Rose Valley and took a huge amount of money from its chairman Gautam Kundu.

Babul Supriyo also claimed that TMC spokesperson Mahua Moitra made several false allegations against him and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during a live TV show on Jan 3.

As the statements of these three TMC leaders defamed him publicly, the legal notices of defamation have been sent to the trio, Babul Supriyo said.

The BJP MP also said to start a case in Delhi's Tis Hazari Court, if Tapas Pal, Saugata Roy and Mahua Moitra don't beg apologies publicly by this weak for making defamatory statements against him.

Meanwhile, alleging that Babul Supriyo passed defamatory remarks against her during a live debate in a national TV channel on Jan 3, TMC MLA Mahua Moitra has lodged an FIR against the Union Minister at Alipore Police Station in Kolkata.
