Thiruvananthapuram Dec 23 (IBNS) : A vigilance court in Thiruvananthapuram on Friday ordered a probe against seven former Kerala ministers of the previous UDF Government, including former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, and two legislators, for the charge of nepotism, reports said.

The court ordered for a report before February 6.

Former ministers Ramesh Chennithala, V.S. Siva.kumar, Anoop Jacob, P.K. Jayalakshmi, K.C. Joseph and K.M. Mani are among those who will be facing the probe.

The Vigilance will take a decision on registering the FIR against them based on the findings in the preliminary probe.

Vigilance will verify whether the accused persons had violated any service rules or guidelines for nepotism.

Recently, Industry and sports minister in the LDF Government EP Jayarajan had to step down after he faced nepotism charges.
