New Delhi, Dec 7 (IBNS): India observes Armed Forces Flag Day on Dec 7 every year since 1949 to raise funds from the public for the welfare of the Indian armed forces personnel.

Officers of the Kendriya Sainik Board met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday and pinned a flag on him as part of the Armed Forces Flag Day observation.

Defence Minister Manohar Parikkar tweeted on Wednesday, "On the Armed Forces Flag day, we remember the sacrifices of our brave soldiers and re-dedicate ourselves to their continuous welfare."
