New Delhi, Dec 2 (IBNS): Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said on Friday that the cash crunch resulting from the scrapping of high value Indian currency is expected to ease by the end of this year, according to media reports.

Jaitley was speaking at the HT Leadership Summit.

The minister said that the security printing of currency is a time-consuming exercise but the Reserve Bank is calibrating the release of the new currency.

He also said though the demonetisation lead to some disruption, the benefits will be realised in the long run.

He said that the demonetisation and the Goods and Services Tax (GST) will act as game changers for Indian economy.
