Kalikho Pul'd body taken to native village

Guwahati, Aug 10 (IBNS) : The mortal remains of former Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Kalikho Pul were taken to his native village Hawai in remote Anjaw district bordering with China for the last rites on Wednesday.

Senior members of Pema Khandu led state government, BJP MLA Mahesh Chai had accompanied the body of Pul along with his relatives in a helicopter which took off at 7:30 am from Itanagar to Hayulian.

Thousands of supporters of the former Arunachal Pradesh CM gave a tearful adieu to their beloved leader.

Earlier, Ministers of the state government, top administration and police officials had offered their tribute to Pul in Itanagar.

On Aug 9, the former Arunachal Pradesh CM was found hanging at his official residence in Itanagar.
