Kolkata Metro service hit as woman attempts suicide

Kolkata, Jul 28 (IBNS): Metro rail service in Kolkata was partly disrupted as a woman attempted suicide at Esplanade Metro Station on Thursday afternoon.

According to reports, the woman jumped in front of a metro at Esplanade station at around 3:50 pm.

She was rescued from the track in a serious condition and has been sent to Calcutta Medical College and Hospital.

Trains are being run from Noapara to Girish Park, and, Kavi Subhas to Maidan.

Normal metro service will be resume shortly, officials said.
