New Delhi, July 10 (IBNS) President Pranab Mukherjee on Sunday extended his greetings and felicitations to the Government and people of Mongolia on the eve of their National Day.

In a message to Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj, the President of Mongolia, the President has said, “On behalf of the Government, the people of India and on my own behalf, it is with great pleasure that I extend warm greetings and felicitations to you, to the Government and the friendly people of Mongolia on the occasion of your National Day."

"India and Mongolia share a civilisational bond based on deep rooted cultural and historical ties. Although we do not share a border, India and Mongolia are spiritual neighbours since time immemorial. Mutual trust, goodwill and friendship are the hallmarks of our relations. Our shared vision of peace, prosperity and harmony are shaped by cherished democratic and Buddhist ideals," he said.

"I am happy to note that the positive momentum generated by the elevation of our relations to a Strategic Partnership during the visit of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in May 2015 has been sustained by regular exchanges of high-level visits," Mukherjee said.

He said: "I am confident that as we enter a new era of co-operation, we will further deepen our relations and open new areas for our engagement aimed at fulfilling the true potential of our ties."

"Please accept, Excellency, my best wishes for your health and well-being and for the continued progress and prosperity of the people of Mongolia,” he said.
