Satish Shetty murder: CBi files supplementary chargesheet against two former police officials

New Delhi, July 8 (IBNS) The Central Bureau of Investigation on Friday said it has filed a supplementary chargesheet against then Police Inspector and then Police Sub Inspector, both working in Local Crime Branch, Pune in a case related to an alleged murder of Satish Shetty, a Social Worker of Talegaon.

"CBI had taken over the investigation of the case on the request of Maharashtra Government which was earlier registered at Police Station Talegaon, Dabhade, Pune vide Cr No.08/2010 dated 13.01.2010 U/s 302 of IPC. It was alleged that Shri Satish Shetty was killed on 13.01.2010 by unknown assailants in Pune," read a CBI statement.

During investigation, it was emerged that then Police Inspector, Local Crime Branch, Pune had allegedly conspired with others and fabricated & manipulated evidences to shield the real conspirators & killers.

The CBI arrested then Police Inspector on Apr 6.

"During further investigation, CBI has arrested then Police Sub Inspector, Pune on 10.04.2016. It was alleged that then PSIwas involved in the initial investigation of the case. He had allegedly conspired with the perpetrators of crime and in furtherance of that he created false evidence and fake eye-witnesses implicating 05 other accused persons to shield the real conspirators and killers, the national probe agency said in a statement.

Further investigation is continuing.
