Ghaziabad, May 20 (IBNS) The body of a 24-year-old man was recovered near a railway crossing in Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad city on Thursday morning, reports said.
The body contained several injury marks, police officials said.

The deceased, identified as Deepak, was suspected to have been murdered elsewhere, following which his body was dumped near the tracks.

The Times of India quoted Avnish Gautam, SHO of Sihani Gate police station as saying, "The injury marks on the body were not very clear. Autopsy report will establish the cause of death. But it was evident that the body was dumped at the spot in order to mislead investigations. A probe is on."

The victim's brother said that in their last telephonic conversation on Wednesday night, Deepak had promised to return home within half an hour and had asked his brother to prepare dinner for them.

His brother also said that while conversing, there was nothing unusual about his voice and that he did not sound stressed.

The body was sent for an autopsy, following which it was handed over to the family, reports stated.
