Patna, May 11 (IBNS) The Bihar government on Wednesday issued an arrest warrant against Janata Dal-U legislator Manorama Devi following the recovery of liquor bottles from her residence in Gaya town, reports said.

Only on Tuesday, the ruling JDU suspended Manorama Devi. Her son Rocky Yadav was arrested from a house in Bodh Gaya for murdering a teenager.

"The state government has issued an arrest warrant against Manorma Devi and sealed a room of her residence where some liquor bottles were seized during a police raid on Mondaynight during a search for her son," reports quoted a district police officer in Gaya as saying.

She  faces arrest for violating the new prohibition law in Bihar.

The state has been under total prohibition since April 1.

According to reports,  Manorma Devi has gone underground. However, Principal Secretary of Registration and Excise Department, K.K.Pathak said the legislator would soon be arrested.

Manorama Devi's son Rocky had allegedly shot dead Aditya Sachadeva, a 19-year-old son of a businessman for overtaking his vehicle.

The incident gave the opposition BJP a handle to pounce on the ruling JDU. However, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar asserting that no guilty will be spared and police promised to file a charge sheet within a month.
