Kashmiri youth secures second position in civil services exams
Srinagar, May 10 (IBNS): A Kashmiri youth has secured second place in the 2015 civil services examination, results of which were announced on Tuesday.
Delhi-based Tina Dabi topped the test, followed by South Kashmir’s youth Athar Aamir-ul-Shafi Khan.
The 23-year-old Khan hails from Devipora village in Mattan area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
He is the youngest youth from Kashmir to crack the prestigious examination.
This is the second time that Khan has secured a place in the list. In 2015, he was one of the seven Kashmiris selected in the service. Khan did his schooling from Iqbal Memorial Institute, Islamabad up to Matric and twelfth from Tyndale Biscoe, Srinagar in 2009.
A total of 1,078 candidates cleared the UPSC exam -- 499 from the general category, 314 from the other backward classes, 176 from the scheduled castes and 89 from the scheduled tribes.
