Hyderabad: Kidnappers make ransom call to family even after teen die

Hyderabad, Mar 18 (IBNS): In a shocking incident, a 15-year-old boy was allegedly kidnapped and murdered in Hyderabad by four men including one who was known to him, media reports said.
A class 10 student, Abhay Modani, left home on Wednesday evening for a tiffin shop.

On that night itself, Abhay was smothered, tightly bound with rope and somehow stuffed in a TV package box, said reports.

One of the men, who held Abhay, called his father, who is a  businessman, for ransom and declared: "I am kidnapper speaking."

According to reports, the call was made long after the boy died.

However, that did not stop the kidnappers from demanding Rs. 10 crore as ransom.

After negotiating with Abhay's father, they were promised at least half that amount.

In a few hours, however, the police realized that the teen may be dead.

The ransom call was traced to Secunderabad, the twin city of Hyderabad.

Police also secured CCTV visuals from near the Secunderabad station, which showed someone dumping the box by the road near a hotel.
