Islamabad, Feb 19 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif are likely to meet Washington next month, media reports said on Friday.

The United States, Pakistan and India are quietly exploring the possibility of a meeting between Indian and Pakistani prime ministers in the US capital next month, diplomatic sources told Pakistan's Dawn News.

The meeting will occur during the nuclear summit in Washington from Mar 31-Apr 1.

The newspaper claimed that both Modi and Sharif have accepted US President Barack Obama's invitation to attend the summit.

“The chances are strong, very strong,” said a senior official who did not want to be identified. “But you know the history of India-Pakistan talks, you cannot be certain about an event until it has happened,” the official was quoted as saying by Dawn News.

Modi visited Pakistan and met Sharif last year.
