Kolkata, Jan 21 (IBNS): Union Home Affairs Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday hit out at the Mamata Banerjee-led government over the present law and order situation in the state.

"Ma-Mati-Manush (Mother-Land-Human) is the main slogan of Trinamool. In present days, Ma, Mati and Manush are unsafe in West Bengal. No one is safe here. Police are also unsafe in the state. What happened in Malda? Police station was set on fire. That was not a small or petty incident. It should be come into light that who were responsible for Malda incident," Singh said.

He made the remarks while addressing a mass meeting here at Ashoknagar in West Bengal's North 24 Parganas district.

"The Malda incident will be uncovered one day and all necessary steps will be taken. And all, who were responsible for the violence, will be sent to jail," he further added.

Talking about industrialization in the state, Rajnath Singh said, "Business summit are being hosted here, where investors are coming. I want to tell Mamata Banerjee, no investment will come in West Bengal until the law and order situation here is coming under control. A good governance and commitment to business are needed here."

Rajnath Singh on Thursday assured that enough armed force from the Centre would come here in West Bengal to provide tight security during the assembly elections which will be conducted in March-April 2016.

"All people of Bengal will take part in upcoming assembly election peacefully and safely. I would tell the Election Commission that we will provide central force, exactly as much they want," Singh added.

Countering Rajnath Singh's statement, TMC minister Firhad Hakim said, "He is the Home Affairs Minister of Indian government. If he wants to provide central force, he can. If people can vote, neither BJP nor CPI-M has power to avert Trinamool's victory."

Meanwhile, Rajnath Singh on Thursday did not speak a single word on Saradha issue, which is going to be the main political weapon for all opposition parties in the state to attack ruling Trinamool Congress during the upcoming assembly election's campaigns.

Opposition parties' leaders alleged that a 'silent coalition' between Mamata Banerjee and Narendra Modi is responsible for Rajnath Singh's silence over Saradha scam issue.

Besides Rajnath Singh, other BJP leaders including Dilip Ghosh, Siddharth Nath Singh, Rahul Sinha and Kailash Vijayvargiya slammed Mamata Banerjee and her government over several issues, from the public rally here in North 24 Parganas on Thursday.
