Saradha: CBI quizzes TMC State GS Shankudeb Panda

India Blooms News Service | | 02 Dec 2015, 04:59 pm
Kolkata, Dec 2 (IBNS): The Central Bureau of Investigations (CBI) on Wednesday interrogated Trinamool Congress (TMC) State General Secretary Shankudeb Panda in connection with Saradha financial scam.

The journalist-turned TMC leader attended CBI's office at CGO Complex in Kolkata's Salt Lake area on Wednesday morning and was quizzed in two phases for nearly four hours, sources said.

"We are not satisfied with his answers. He avoided few questions. We told Shankudeb Panda to submit few documents by next 2-3 days. He will soon be interrogated," one CBI official told IBNS.

However, Shankudeb Panda avoided media and left CGO Complex without giving any reaction on Wednesday.

Panda was a stringer of ABP Ananda (Formerly Star Ananda) and a reporter of Saradha group owned TV channel 'Channel-10'.

He got an important post in TV channel 'Ekhon Somoy' which was never 'on-aired' and allegedly got 60 thousand rupees salary every month along with other benefits from that channel. 'Ekhon Somoy' was a TV channel formed by artist Shubhaprasanna and Saradha group owner Sudipta Sen bought that channel from him.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) grilled Shankudeb Panda on Dec 29 last year in connection with multi-crore Saradha chit fund scam.
