If BJP loses Bihar polls, crackers will be burst in Pakistan: Amit Shah

Raxaul, Bihar, Oct 29 (IBNS): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Amit Shah on Thursday sparked off a controversy by stating that if his party loses the Assembly election in Bihar, firecrackers would be burst in celebration in Pakistan.
The BJP president said that jailed criminal-turned-politician Mohammad Shahabuddin would benefit the most if a government is formed in Bihar led by Nitish Kumar and Lalu Prasad's alliance.

Addressing a rally in Raxaul, Shah said: "If the alliance of Nitish Kumar and Lalu Prasad wins, do you know who will be the most happy? Mohammad Shahabuddin will be the happiest person. If the BJP loses the election, terror modules in pakistan would be celebrating...firecrackers would be burst in Pakistan."

He asked the crowd, "Do you want that to happen."

To which the crowd responded "no" in unison.

Shah said the people needs to cast their votes properly to get rid of terrorism.

The Bihar elections are crucial for the BJP which needs numbers in the Rajya Sabha, where it is in a minority and unable to push key reforms.

The last two phases of the Bihar polls will be held within the next week and votes will be counted on Sunday, November 8.
