Jammu, Sept 1 (IBNS) The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday re-arrested hardline Kashmiri separatist leader Masarat Alam in Jammu's Kot Balwal jail and shifted to some unknown destination.

His Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League condemned the leader's re-arrest.

“The Public Safety Act (PSA) on Masarat Alam was quashed by the High Court recently and when a copy of the court order was produced before the jail authorities, a police party re-arrested him in the jail premises and took him away to some unknown destination,” a party spokesman said.

Masarat Alam was arrested on Feb 17.

He was slapped with PSA and lodged to the Kot Balwal jail in Jammu.

“Police had created fabricated cases against Masarat Alam and it was proved in the court as well so now in order to please their masters they are using other means and ways,” the spokesman said.

Strongly condemning the police action, the spokesman said that after failing to prove allegations against Masarat Alam in the court the police are trying to hide their humiliation.

“Police had created fabricated cases against Masarat Alam and it was proved in the court as well. So, now in order to please their masters
they are using other means and ways,” the spokesman said.
