NIA's most wanted extremists nabbed in Assam, 10 kgs RDX recovered

Guwahati, July 1 (IBNS) : Security forces have apprehended four hardcore militants of NDFB(S), including two most wanted of National Investigation Agency (NIA), from Assam's Baska district and recovered huge cache of arms and explosive on Monday night, police said on Wednesday.

The militants were arrested by the security personnel when they coming from Meghalaya.

The nabbed militants were identified as self styled commanding officer (CO) of the outfit Lankeswar Bodo alias Lachi, deputy CO Santosh Kherkotari alias Chimang, cadres Rabiram Basumutary and Gambar Goyari.

BTAD IGP DR LR Bisnoi said that, Lachi and Chimang were involved in the Narayan Guri massacre in 2014 and their names in NIA list.

Security forces had recovered one AK-56 rifle with magazine, 82 rounds live ammunition, two grenades, one pistol and 10 kilograms RDX in possession from them.

The militants had carried arms, explosives from neighboring Meghalaya.
