Assam govt to bear educational expenses of BPL students under new scheme

Guwahati, June 1 (IBNS) : Ahead of the assembly polls in 2016, the Assam Government has decided to launch a new scheme for BPL students.

In a government statement, Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on Monday said that the Assam government will bear all educational expenses of the students belonging to Below Poverty Line (BPL), under a new scheme to be launched soon by the state government.

In the statement, Gogoi said that, the state government will launch a new scheme for the BPL students.

Under the scheme, the state government will bear all educational expenses for BPL students who at least secured second division in the board and Council examination.

The BPL students can send their particulars to Chief Minister's office and by e-mail to cmtarungogoi@gmail.com, cmprcell09@gmail.com, said in the government statement.
