India registers 435 COVID-19 deaths in 24 hours

New Delhi: India registered 30,548 new COVID-19 cases, the lowest figure in past four months, and 435 deaths in the last 24 hours, as per government data released on Monday.

This is the lowest case registered in a day in the past four months.

It was on July 15 when India had last registered less than 30,000 cases. The country recorded 29,429 cases on that day. 

The total number of cases in the country now stands at 88,45,127.

India also witnessed 435 deaths during the same period, taking the death toll due to the highly infectious disease to 130070.

So far, 8249579 people have been discharged from hospital.

There are 465478 active cases in the country at present.

In the past 24 hours, the country witnessed a decline in 13738 cases.
