Pakistan Islamabad: Pakistan is slowly witnessing a surge in COVID-19 cases with capital Islamabad registering 119 new cases in the last 24 hours, media reports said.
The capital's case tally has risen to 20,089, reports Dawn New.
Gilgit-Baltistan has reported 18 new cases taking its total to 4,279, reports the Pakistan news paper.
Meanwhile, PM Imran Khan on Monday called for a National Coordination Committee meeting on Tuesday to discuss the growing trend of COVID-19 infections in the country.
Sources told Geo News that the premier will be briefed by the National Command and Operations Centre (NCOC) on the coronavirus situation.
NCOC discussed additional measures today to control the rising spread of Covid19. Recommendations will be tabled in the NCC being called for tomorrow. Need to take immediate measures which have the most impact on disease spread without curtailing economic activity
