Haryana records one death, 46 fresh cases, tally rises to 580

Chandigarh/UNI: Haryana on Wednesday reported 46 fresh coronavirus cases and one fatality, taking the state's COVID-19 tally to 580 and death toll to seven.

According to an official bulletin, the deadly virus claimed the life of one patient in Panipat district on Wednesday.

Maximum 20 new coronavirus cases have been reported from Gurugram district, six from Jhajjar, five each from Panipat and Karnal, four from Ambala, three from Sonepat, two from Faridabad and one case from Jind district.

Of the seven fatalities, two deaths each were reported from Ambala and Faridabad districts while one death each was reported from Panipat, Karnal and Rohtak districts.

In Haryana, Gurugram leads the tally with 104 confirmed cases, followed by Sonepat 81, Faridabad 78, Jhajjar 70, Nuh 59, Ambala 41, Palwal 36, Panipat 33, Panchkula 18, Karnal 14, Jind eleven, Yamunanagar eight, Sirsa six, Fatehabad five, Hisar and Rohtak four each, Bhiwani three, Kurukshetra and Kaithal two each, while Charkhi Dadri district recorded one case.

Out of 43,279 samples, 580 tested positive and 38,590 negative, while reports of 4,095 were awaited. There are 327 active cases in the state.

A total of 246 patients has been discharged from hospitals, so far.

A total of 37,407 patients are on surveillance till date, out of which 21,667 have completed their surveillance period and currently, 15,740 patients are under surveillance.

Meanwhile, apart from 580 positive cases, 14 Italians had tested positive. Thirteen of them had been discharged and one later tested negative for COVID-19. However, he died due to some other reason.
