COVID-19: Positive cases rise to 523 in Uttar Pradesh

Lucknow/UNI: The number of positive patients by Coronavirus in Uttar Pradesh rose to 523 on Monday after 40 new cases were detected.

Head of the isolation ward, King George Medical University (KGMU) Sudhir Kumar said on Sunday night that 740 samples were tested in which 40 were found positive.

According to him, of these new cases, 30 were found in Agra followed by four each in Lucknow and Ferozabad and two in Bulandshahr.

He added that all the 30 new patients of Agra were admitted at SN Medical college while the two new positive cases in Bulandshahr were the wife and son of an Auryavedic doctor, who died due to the virus recently. Both the mother and son were being treated in Delhi in hospital.

At present, five people have lost their lives so far to the the virus while 46 people have recovered of the spread out in 41 districts of the total 75.

Among the positive cases, 272 people were those who attended Tablighi Jamaat conference.

Among the four new cases in Lucknow, the positive were detected in Hussainganj, Phulbagh and Chitwapur area in the old city.

With the fresh cases, now the total cases in Agra has went up to 134, 36 in Lucknow, 27 in Ghaziabad, 64 in GB Nagar, four in Lakhimpur kheri, nine in Kanpur, two in Pilibhit, two in Moradabad, nine in Varanasi, 17 in Shamli, four in Jaunpur, seven in Baghpat, 51 in Meerut, six in Bareilly, 13 in Bulandshahr , nine in Basti, six in Hapur, five in Ghazipur, four in Azamgarh ,18 in Ferozabad, two in Hardoi, six in Pratapgarh, 28 in Saharanpur, one in Shahjahanpur, two in Banda, six in Maharajganj, four in Hatras, two in Mirzapur, two in Rae Bareli, three in Auriyya, one in Barabanki ,two in Kaushambi, one in Bijnore, 10 in Sitapur, one in Prayagraj, three in Mathura, two in Badsun, six in Rampur, five in Muzaffarnagar, seven in Amroha and one in Bhadoi.
