Tie up Arundhati Roy to Army jeep : Paresh Rawal's controversial tweet

India Blooms News Service | | 22 May 2017, 02:55 pm
New Delhi, May 22 (IBNS) : Bollywood actor and BJP MP Paresh Rawal has kicked up a storm after he made a controversial comment on social media, suggesting that author Arundhanti Roy be tied to an army jeep- a reference to the recent "human shield" outcry over army action in Kashmir.

"Instead of tying stone pelter on the army jeep tie up Arundhati Roy!"  Rawal tweeted on Sunday night.

The comments have been retweeted over 3000 times within 14 hours. The tweet has received over 6000 likes so far.

Recently, the footage of a man being tied to the back of an army jeep and used as a human shield against stone-pelting mobs in Kashmir kicked up a high controversy with criticism coming from various quarters, including human rights activists.

However, Arundhati Roy was not known to have made any open statement on the human shield issue, though she is known for her controversial views on Kashmir.

Rawal's comment drew immediate reaction from people like  senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh, who said : @SirPareshRawal Why not the person who stitched PDP/BJP alliance ?
