Kolkata, Apr 6 (IBNS): P.K. Singh, Chairman, Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL), on Thursday reviewed the strategic sales initiatives charted out by the company's Marketing team for the current financial year, at a meeting held at SAIL's Marketing headquarters here.

The meeting was also attended by SAIL Director (Commercial) Soma Mondal, Director (Technical) Raman and the CEOs of all SAIL integrated steel plants.

Congratulating the Marketing team and Plants for “achieving best-ever production and sales in SAIL’s history” with 12% growth in saleable steel production and sales of over 13 million tonnes during 2016-17, Singh set the ball rolling for an even better performance during the current financial year by stating that the considerably higher targets set could be fulfilled with effective strategic plans.

The SAIL Chairman examined in detail the marketing plans of each product category and provided guidelines for ensuring seamless supplies of SAIL steel both in the domestic and international markets. A number of new initiatives have been taken on board by the Marketing team through the Chairman’s interventions.

“We can achieve our targets through greater synergy amongst various units of the organization,” Singh added, expressing confidence on the collective.

Eariler, Mondal spoke about the challenging market conditions and assured that every possible effort would be made by the Marketing team to boost the company’s profitability through complete customer satisfaction.

Raman on his part assured that the Plants would put their best foot forward to produce as per the Marketing team’s plan.
