Indian market closes on a high note on Wednesday

Mumbai, Apr 5 (IBNS): The Indian market closed on a high note on Wednesday with BSE Sensex up 64.02 points at 29974.24 and NSE Nifty up 27.30 points at 9265.15.

The market attributed the climb in benchmark indices to rally in index heavyweights ahead of the Rserve Bank of India's monetary policy meeting outcome.

Some of the key stocks that gained were Adani Ports, Maruti Suzuki, Reliance, Idea Cellualr, BHEL and Larsen & Toubro while HDFC, Coal India, HCL Tech, Infosys, Asian Paints and ITC declined.
