Nifty rises to record high on BJP's UP victory, Rupee gains

Mumbai, Mar 14 (IBNS) : Riding the sentiment following BJP's landslide victory in Uttar Pradesh, stock markets went roaring with Nifty soaring to a new all-time high on Tuesday, reports said.

The Sensex rose 600 points to 29,561 while Nifty surged 188 points to record high of 9,122.

According to reports the surge in market also helped rupee go about 1-year high of 66.17 against the US dollar, rising by 43 paise.

Investor wealth on the BSE soared by Rs. 1.31 lakh crore.
