Kolkata, Apr 18 (IBNS): India’s first Social Car, which runs on social media conversations, on Friday completed its exciting journey and reached its final destination here.

As part of an innovative digital campaign, the Airtel Social Car has traveled across the country from Mumbai to Kolkata, covering over 2200 kms. The car made pit stops in Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam and Cuttack en route to Kolkata.

What sets this innovative Airtel Social Car, apart is the fact that it is powered by conversations around the hashtag #Airtel4GDrive across digital platforms like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. The more the conversations, the farther it goes.

The trio of popular TV Actor Karan Wahi, MTV VJ of Student of the Year fame Sana Saeed, and MTV’s  Zerxes Wadia made this exciting journey all the way from Mumbai to Kolkata and posted their adventures on social platforms along the way. They were joined by popular singer Shilpa Rao, who welcomed them to the City of Joy.

Welcoming the Airtel Social Car crew to the city, Ravindra Singh Negi, Chief Executive Officer, West Bengal & Odisha, Bharti Airtel Ltd, said, "We are excited to welcome Airtel’s Social Car to the city of joy, Kolkata incidentally, also the city where Airtel launched India’s first 4G service. It’s indeed heartening to see the response garnered around this digital innovation. My congratulations to the teams involved for making this adventurous and digitally powered journey.”
