New Delhi, Feb 29 (IBNS): Y C Deveshwar, Chairman ITC, on Monday complimented Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley for presenting a Budget that addresses several issues of structural transformation amidst a very challenging global scenario.

"I would like to compliment the Finance Minister for presenting a Budget that addresses several issues of structural transformation amidst a very challenging global scenario," Deveshwar said in a statement.

"The thrust given to the agriculture, rural and social sectors is particularly commendable and will serve to be very effective catalysts to drive an era of stable and sustainable growth. The proposals to give a strong impetus to infrastructural development will also provide long-term drivers that should augur well for the Indian economy," he said.

Jaitley on Monday presented the Union Budget 2016 focusing on rural development and farm and social sector along with infrastructure with analysts terming it a pro-poor, pro-agriculture move that throws a challenge to the government to implement in reality.
