Sensex drops 110.64 pts

Snapping a winning streak of last three sessions, the BSE Sensex on Tuesday slipped 110.64 pts to settle at 73903.91 on profit booking by local operators.

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) eased 8.70 pts at 22,453.30.

The NSE registered days high and low at 22,497.60 and 22,388.15 pts respectively.

The Sensex opened at 74022.30, rising 22 pts. During the it was advanced 85 pts at 74099.78, days high. Later' it was slipped nearly 271 pts at 73743.77, days low, before closing at 73903.91, sliding 110.64 pts from its previous close.

The stocks fell were Technology by 0.71 pc followed by IT by 0.54 pc and Bankex by 0.19 pc.

The Mid cap rose by 1.14 pc while Small Cap by 1.28 pc.

In 30 scrips, 14 advanced, while 16 declined.

The losers were Kotak Bank by 0.84 pc to Rs 1756.65, HCL Technology by 1.82 pc to Rs 1528.10, ICICI Bank by 1.52 pc to Rs 1082.50 and Sun Pharma by 0.90 pc to Rs 1616.10.

The gainers were M and M by 2.95 pc to Rs 1911.85, Nestle India Ltd by 1.42 pc to Rs 2622.70, Tata Motors by 1.23 pc to Rs 1004.30 and SBI by 1.21 pc to Rs 767.35.
