Sensex rises marginally by 66.14 pts as market closes

The BSE Sensex on Monday advanced 66.14 pts to close at 73872.29 as renewed buying was witnessed in Oil & Gas, Power, Utilities and Energy stocks.

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) gained 27.20 pts at 22,405.60.

The Sensex opened in green at 73903.09, up 17 pts. During the day, it was rallied 184 pts at 73990.13, days high, before closing at 73872.29 up 66.14 pts from its previous close.

The NSE registered days high and low at 22,440.90 and 22,358.30 pts respectively.

The stocks include Oil and Gas, Power, Utilities and Energy kept the market up.

In 30 scrips, 15 advanced, while 15 declined.

The gainers were NTPC by 3.72 pc to Rs 354.55, Powergrid by 2.51 pc to Rs 294.10, Reliance Industries by 0.94 pc to Rs 3009, Bajaj Finserv by 0.94 pc to Rs 1624.65 and Axis bank by 0.90 pc to Rs 1106.25.

The losers were JSW Steel by 2.22 pc to Rs 825.50, M& M by 1.75 pc to Rs 1926.80, Tata Steel by 1.45 pc to Rs 152.90 and Ultracemco by 1.52 pc to Rs 9975.15.
